THIS POST IS WAAAAAY LONG OVERDUE like everything is in my life...hahahahah and its all about my bangle from baubles, bangles and beads.

Flashback - march 2007, i was dying of heat inside the brussel sprouts booth at the summer ewan ewan bazaar over at the cuenca court in alabang so i decided to walk around - where rica was - who knows - probably buying gabie even MORE clothes.. hahaha - anyhoo - i spy a booth with a shitload of bangles - EVEN A CHOC NUT bangle and - i was like - oh! are they back? last i saw them, i was 7, it was 1983, ninoy had just died, there was a BOP GIRL dance contest in eat bulaga and a GLORIA by laura brannigan sing-a-like contest on student canteen - they were gracing my 25 yr.old mother's arms who would come home drunk from another fabo night out over at the the isis disco dressed to the nines in black christian dior illusion tulle...

oh ok - back to march 2007 - after getting over my thrill over the name of the store - BAUBLES BANGLES AND BEADS!!! oh my god - i was totally singing it in my head!! its a song from the broadway musical KISMET! (though it really is by romantic composer borodin) bwahahahaha i grew up watching the movie version of the broadway play via a scratchy old copy (FROM SONIX - REMEMBER THAT VIDEO SHOP IN FORBES?? - they had an AWESOME musical movie section)..so there i was singing it in my head the whole time i stood in front of that booth....hahahahaha

ok - sorry for digressing - AGAIN back to march 2007 - i timidly (due to being absolutely stoney broke that day - ok - not really - my wallet was over at the booth in the other side of the gym and i was too lazy to go back for it) approached the bangle booth and asked the gal manning the booth how much it was - she named a price - we chatted for a bit with me oohing ang ahhing over the pretty that was all them bangles then i walked away and didnt buy one - wahahahha -

i remember thinking - what a nice gal! she was so courteous, so mahinhin and quiet...and she patiently answered all my inane questions - and especially since i didnt buy one - waaaah - she must think im the biggest biyatch ever.... yun pala - it was paoling....bwahahah who i later found out is one of the funniest people i have met - mwahahaha yep pao - that was my 1st impression...hahahahaha

fast forward to august 07, i had since spent like 60 gajillion hours over at their site when i said - CRAP. I MUST HAVE A BANGLE. NOW!!!!! but what to put on it? -
1) my face? wahahahaha baka it might fall pa into the hands of the friendly neighborhood mangkukulams who are after my hide....

2)my kids?? - too cliche - though they are angels..they wil be tattoed on my ass soon anyway....

3)my animal husbandry RON?? - eeks - hells bells - no way - scary - i see him every day na nga tapos i'll put him on a bangle pa. WAG NA KAYA.....

4) assorted mumu? i mean really - i thought about that - having a mumu bangle....like a gallery of fact and fictional murderers and mumu like jack the ripper, sweeney todd, hamlet's dad all like having coffee or something in a starbucks.... but then that might have been too complicated...

so this went on and on for days - agonizing over what to put on the fraking bangle...

5) an x-files bangle? god how 1996-97 but hey - i was a big fan - even though the truth is still out there

6) a buffy bangle? hahaha my sad fan-girl side is showing

7) a showtunes bangle? like with the titles of all 3million of my favorite showtunes? but how to make it sing....

8) why not just a regular ready made bangle that pao had uploaded? they are soo cute and nice and totally fashionable...when i realized - IM not that nice really - just a little bit cute (ang kapal ko) and sadly - i have NEVER been fashionable....

when it him me one day while surfing channels - RANMA 1/2!!!!! The anime that practically kept me sane and saved me from depression in 1993 - and real depression ha - as in diagnosed. not teenage angst emo bullshit..... im still not all that well....cue evil laugh....mwahahaha

there it was - the perfect bangle for me - hahahah RANMA 1/2 - i mean can a TV show get any better than being about a 16 year old boy who - when splashed with cold water - turns into a buxom 16 year old girl? i cant even begin to tell you how hilarious this show is - and add to the mix his tomboy fiance and long suffering family, a whole slew of stalkers, a psychotic martial arts rhythmic gymnast and her brother and a myriad of other characters who all turn into something when splashed with water - from a goose, to a cat, to his dad the panda and yep = in true warped japanese fashion - a panty pilfering lolo - etc.etc.etc fabulous....all amidst a backdrop of fast and furious martial arts....

so i quickly emailed pao (ok - quickly turned into like a month since im just so unbelievably lazy) sent her a ton of photos and after like 2-3 weeks- WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I GOT MY BANGLE!!! I WAS MUMU HAPPY!!! AS IN MUMU!!! and i couldnt help gloating over the fact that I HAD ONE as my 4.YR OLD bianca - who enjoys ranma's quirky theme song and the general slapstickness of the show - though parang it is inappropriate for her nga.. bwahahaha - looked on in ENVY. hahahahahha not to worry - she'll get her own bangle soon - im still trying to think of what kind of bangle though... she wants the winx club!! woohoo!!! fashion forward fairies....but i want her to have a bangle with maybe scenes from the gormenghast trilogy?hahaha loko lang.
